Good morning crew of Alpha Station, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to …. Well, welcome to our last day here. We’ve had a good run up here at the L1 point - a hundred years! That’s blowing Mir’s record out of the water. ISS, eat your heart out. Today… today is really hard. It didn’t need to be this way, but lets not reopen old wounds. The shuttle will be heading down to Earth in a few hours, let’s make sure everything is ship-shape before then.
The last great space station orbiting Earth is shutting down today.
The last shuttle load of crew are leaving today.
It’s a day of mourning and celebration, and a to-do list of epic proportions
And a new… diner? Well, I know where we’re eating lunch today.
This is the first episode of what will hopefully be an ongoing campaign about people, places, stories, situations, and a time traveling, multi-verse hopping diner. For more information see here.
Alpha Station’s Last Day is a meditation on space travel, potential, opportunity, home, and failure. It will also contain the things you expect from a larp in a space station - danger, excitement, explosions, coffee, rogue AI’s, life-changing decisions and reckless hope.
Venue hire starts at midday, muster at 12:45, game on at 1pm. Play will continue until 5pm, or until we find a natural end-point.
Cost: this first chapter will be free, but please bring food and/or drinks to share. The diner characters will serve it up. An allergy list will be sent out closer to the game, with a list of allergens to avoid in the shared food.
