The first day game for The Weave futuristic fantasy LARP, taking place simultaneously in Wellington and Auckland.

Four vessels sail through the endless expanse of space. Their rooms and corridors house hundreds of lives, thousands of memories. And yet, they are mere pinpricks against the vast, dark vacuum surrounding them.
These ships are our current home. We are halfway through a months-long voyage between the stars. By now, everyone has settled into a cautious routine. Tonight is no different. Aboard the Ad Astra and the Sequi, we are the side crew who have been rostered onto the ship's second bridge for a quiet evening of routine maintenance and monitoring.
Space may be dangerous, but our collective knowledge is strong and our ships sturdy. We are born from astro-sailers. Our ancestors braved the tumultuous cosmos for millennia. It is hard to feel concerned after two long months.
The most interesting thing on this voyage was someone strapping a knife to an automated vacuum. This evening has been as uneventful as all the rest, and there’s currently no indication of that changing.
None of us worry anymore about the void clawing at our fragile metal hulls, hungering to rip us apart.
No one rostered gives a second thought to the thin threads of radio waves linking our two ships, the only support to safely guide us across this volatile ocean of compressed space.
And most of all, none of us think about the pitch black space surrounding our tiny ships, where anything could happen in the blink of an eye.

Linked is the first day game of The Weave LARP, running on 4 July. This game will occur simultaneously at indoor venues in both Wellington and Auckland.
Participants are expected to bring a small snack for an in-game shared food break.
This game is 18+.
