Welcome to the first of three LARPs in our Literature Live! series in partnership with Tūranga! Each LARP will follow a literary theme or genre and come with a suggested book list curated by a librarian to help get you fully into character.
I Pray God Will Curse the Writer is our Gothic horror offering for the spooky month of October, based on the short story collection "The King in Yellow" by Robert Chambers and various Lovecraftian nightmares.
A group of friends has decided to make a zero budget indie horror movie. But when they gather together to read the script, they instead find themselves trapped in a strange other world known as Carcosa. There, they encounter the untrustworthy inhabitants and the arcane dangers of the place.
Can they discover Carcosa's secrets and escape before the looming apocalypse arrives?
