“...And now about the cauldron sing, like elves and fairies in a ring,

enchanting all that you put in. By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes…”

~Macbeth, William Shakespeare~

The midwinter solstice is a special time for Witches. From the five corners of the known worlds Witches gather to revel, scheme, enchant, and drink from the well of worlds to replenish their magic for the year to come.

It is also a time when the Coven, the wisest of the arcane, gathers.

Their leader, the ancient Crone, is dying. With her the Well of Worlds will also die, and with it, the power of all the witches. Unless. Unless somehow the gathered can transfer her mantle to another.

This is a time of war. The enmity between Witches and Wizards escalated with the death of their High Chancellor at the hands of the witch-assassin Ebony Rose. A truce has been called, and envoys from the Wizard’s Council are en route.

Omens have revealed Queen Mab, of the Faerie realm, may have invited herself, along her host, known for mischief and mayhem.

Hedgewitches, candy spinners, and curse weavers stand as equals with the Crone herself on this sacred night. They gather to beguile friends, hoodwink rivals, and dance by the light of the moon.
