Something is awry in Ventura Bay...

For years, the city has withstood the ravages of time, evolving from pirate hideaway to formidable trade power. Ventura has led the Free Cities in their independence from the greater realms, but now, the powers within the city are turning to outsiders for aid.

Her Serenity, the Doge of Ventura has been slain. Unrest wracks the city’s streets as the old order is weakened. Religious tensions are rising amongst the populace, and members of the High Council are deadlocked in political struggles. Tradition dictates that a new Doge must be elected during the Festival of Masks - a masquerade ball which honours Hastur, God of the Crossroads. For the first time in decades, the High Council has opened invitations to all Ventura’s trade partners.

In Corinium, these invitations reach the Loyalist leadership, many of whom have their own reasons for wanting to visit the city. To the Loyalist oracles, the auspices are clear - their fates will be decided in the City of Silver.
