The Venue
Chimera will run at Motu Moana Scout Camp, in Green Bay, Auckland. It is located in Connaught Street and is 3km from New Lynn Transport Centre and Lynn Mall.
Catering on site
Meals for Saturday and Sunday will be catered. Breakfast will be $6 and dinners and lunches will be $8 per meal. Soft drinks and candy will be available also.
We are pleased to offer a special pre-pay weekend meal price: the whole weekend's meals for $30 if you pay before August 17th. Not only is this a saving of $6 off the full price, but it means you don't have to worry about cash on the day, and get to jump to the head of line!
Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are available. Please email us to let us know your requirements.
Our caterer for 2013 will be Kim Smits, who has been our acclaimed caterer and is returning for her fourth year with us. Menu for 2013 to follow shortly.

Costs
Chimera will cost as follows:
- Full Convention (5-6 games) - $55 (a $5 discount is available for nzLARPS members, as well as a $5 discount for payment before August 1st. These discounts stack)
- Three/Four games - $35 (no discounts apply)
- Two Games - $25 (no discounts apply)
- One Game only - $15 (no discounts apply)
Accommodation
There are 84 beds available at the venue. Accommodation is clean scout bunks, with access to bathroom, shower and kitchen facilities. Accommodation is free of charge but priority will be given for those coming from out of Auckland.
Make Up Artist on Site - Kara Jensen
Kara Jensen of PaintedPeople will be doing special fx makeup at Chimera. She'll be set up all weekend long and will be playing in some games. You will have to pre-book your time slot by emailing Kara on kara@paintedfaces.co.nz or phone 09 422 5252
Prices as follows:
- Single scar/ simple eye design, single one colour airbrush tattoo $5
- Facepaint (mask style) or multiple scars/one colour airbrush tattoos $10
- Aging Makeup, or Face/neck/hands painting $20

Please note, Kara does painting and fx,not standard beauty makeup. She does not carry the many foundation colours and concealers required for that particular craft.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for three major categories across the convention: The People's Choice for Standout Roleplaying, The People's Choice for Standout Costuming, and The People's Choice for Greatest Chimera Spirit. There is an additional prize of Best Spirit, awarded to someone who has gone above and beyond in making Chimera an exceptional experience as voted by the convention goers.
Contrary to past years, where everyone voted one costume and one roleplayer after the game, there are no number limitations on nominations, and nominations will be open throughout the convention so people can vote for as many or as few people as they wish for each category (except game writing, which is done after each round). For example, if in one game, there was nobody you thought stood out for costume but three people you thought roleplayed well, you can nominate the three for roleplaying and not nominate for costume. People are encouraged to vote as it shows their appreciation for others' efforts but are not forced to. Voting will be done via Google Form - accessible by either smartphone, an internet capable laptop on site or paper slips if necessary.
For our Saturday night flagship, for each of the four areas the GMs assigned to the area will select one player for Game Masters' Choice for Outstanding Roleplaying, as well as Game Masters' Choice for Outstanding Costuming. Players will vote after the game via smartphones, tablets, computers etc through a Google Form, which will allow us to tabulate results in a matter of minutes, on the following three categories:
- Favourite Male Costume
- Favourite Female Costume
- Memorable Roleplayer (they can nominate up to three)
