The Venue

Chimera will run at Motu Moana Scout Camp, in Green Bay, Auckland. It is located in Connaught Street and is 3km from New Lynn Transport Centre and Lynn Mall.

Catering on site

Meals for Saturday and Sunday will be catered. Breakfast will be $6 and dinners and lunches will be $8 per meal. Soft drinks and candy will be available also.

We are pleased to offer a special pre-pay weekend meal price: the whole weekend's meals for $30 if you pay before August 1st. Not only is this a saving of $6 off the full price, but it means you don't have to worry about cash on the day, and get to jump to the head of line!

Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are available. Please make sure you specify your requirements on your registration form.

Menu for Chimera 2012

The menu for Chimera 2012 is as follows:

Breakfast Saturday and Sunday

  • Hash browns, toast with preserves, fruit, corn flakes, coffee and tea.

Saturday lunch

  • Chicken and cranberry filled roll, spinach and feta filo, homemade chocolate chip cookie and apple.
  • Vegetarian option: Sundried tomato wrap filled with roast veggies and salad, spinach and feta filo, chocolate chip cookie, and apple.
  • Vegan option: Sundried tomato wrap filled with roast veggies and salad, pumpkin tart, vegan cookie and apple.

Saturday Dinner

  • Chicken marinated in honey soy, green salad, and ciabatta garlic bread
  • Vegetarian option: Spinach and ricotta stuffed portabella mushrooms, green salad and ciabatta garlic bread.
  • Vegan option: Warm moroccan roast vegetable chick pea salad, mixed greens and vegan garlic bread.

Sunday Lunch

  • Bacon and egg pie, roast vegetable and feta penne and mixed green salad.
  • Vegetarian option: Spanish frittata, roast vegetable and feta penne and mixed green salad.
  • Vegan option: Grilled pita bread pizza, roast vegetable penne and mixed green salad.

Costs

Chimera will cost as follows:

  • Full Convention (5-6 games) - $55 (a $5 discount is available for nzLARPS members, as well as a $5 discount for payment before August 1st. These discounts stack)
  • Three/Four games - $35 (no discounts apply)
  • Two Games - $25 (no discounts apply)
  • One Game only - $15 (no discounts apply)

Accommodation

There are 84 beds available at the venue. Accommodation is clean scout bunks, with access to bathroom, shower and kitchen facilities. Accommodation is free of charge but priority will be given for those coming from out of Auckland.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for three major categories across the convention: Best Written Game, Best Roleplayer, and Best Costuming. There is an additional prize of Best Spirit, awarded to someone who has gone above and beyond in making Chimera an exceptional experience as voted by the convention goers.

On Saturday night, there will also be prizes awarded to Best Roleplayer, Best Costume (Male) and Best Costume (Female) for the flagship larp, Happily Ever After? And as usual, heaps of spot prizes just for being there!
